Resistance

Last summer we saw release of the first singles from the new The Souljazz Orchestra album called Resistance that was released from Strut Records last month. Besides their sound which is a mixture of soul and jazz as their name states (it’s not only soul&jazz, there’s afro, caribbean music, funk, etc. there), I always liked their socially conscious lyrics as well. Not much changed from their side. They include more caribbean style into their music to make another good album. It’s not their best, but still it’s another good album on their discography so far. Personal faves: Greet the dawn, Shock And Awe, Soleil Couchant. (Additional note: SJO album arts were always amazing, which most of the time have resemblance to 70s Afro-Latin left-wing posters. There is no exception on this album).
